Kfm 94.5 electrified the Western Cape airwaves as the winners of the 2026 edition of the annual Kfm Best of the Cape awards, powered by Yoco, were revealed live on air from dusk to dawn on Friday. This year’s edition smashed all previous records, with over 18,000 nominations and over 440,000 votes cast. But most excitingly, for the very first time, all 2026 winners were honoured with a bespoke Best of the Cape award trophy, making this year’s ceremony a milestone celebration like no other.
It’s the voters who are the true champions of this story. Their voices, passion, and pride united in a powerful show of love for the extraordinary people, places, and experiences that make the Western Cape a world-class home.

Kfm station manager Hennie Myburgh beamed with pride: “What a phenomenal year for the Best of the Cape Awards! Our record-breaking nominations and votes show just how much the people of the Western Cape care about celebrating local legends. We’ve added trophies for the winners, silver and bronze awards for runners up, introduced a new category and equipped all the nominees with free material to promote their nominations. These awards aren’t just about recognition, they symbolise the passion and pride of our communities. To everyone who nominated and voted for their favourites, you are at the core of this celebration. Thank you for making this the beautiful place that we call home.”
“Massive congratulations to all the winners. We salute you, the entrepreneurs who built something out of nothing and put your names on it. You won because your businesses are the heart of your communities: the places people return to and remember. You deserve this recognition. We’re proud to put our name behind this award. It’s our way of saying: we see you, we back you, and we’re here to help you thrive” said Carl Wazen, Yoco co-founder.
