EC police launch probe into killing of 4 people in Gqeberha

Police in the Eastern Cape have launched an investigation after four bodies were discovered at an informal settlement in Gqeberha.

The cops were called at approximately 2am on Monday.

“Upon arrival, members found the bodies of two adult males and two adult females inside the dwelling,” said the South African Police Service (SAPS) in a statement.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that one male and one female were found lying next to each other in the sitting room, while another male and female were found lying next to each other on a bed in the bedroom. 

“All four victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds to their heads and were declared dead at the scene,” the SAPS further explained.

The motive for the killings is not yet known, said the police.
