Mpumalanga police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the torching of trucks in Nelspruit.
Six incidents of suspected arson have been reported in the last two days.
It is alleged the suspects are armed and carry a container of petrol, which is believed to be used to set the trucks alight.
Authorities say they could not locate the drivers of the two vehicles and no inguries have been reported.
The motive for the attack is still unknown.
Police spokesperson Donald Mdluli said, “A case of attempted murder, armed robbery and malicious damage to property is under investigation, and no arrests have been made at this stage.
“Police took note of the anxiety these incidents could have caused hence maximise resources have been deployed in those areas of concern.”
