Western Cape police have arrested two suspects in connection with a deadly taxi-related shooting in Epping.
The two men are expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police said that members linked to a taxi association were travelling along Fisher Avenue on Friday when the occupants of a minibus taxi started shooting at them.
Police spokesperson Novela Potelwa said seven-armed men reportedly got out of a minibus and opened fire, killing two taxi owners, aged 45 and 46.
Two suspects, aged 27 and 31, have been arrested on murder charges.
“The arrests follow a shooting incident that led to two taxi owners being killed in what is believed to be taxi conflict-related murders.”Â
Potelwa said more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
