Most voters on November 4 won’t be nearly as emotional as the ANC’s Fikile Mbulula, who broke down after the Constitutional Court ruled that the ANC’s failure to click the ‘Submit as Final’ button on the Electoral Commission of South Africa’s system was not fatal to the inclusion of 181 candidates across six Eastern Cape municipalities. Nevertheless, South African should definitely not be impassive about their democratic rights and should do so by making a clear X next to their preferred ward candidate and party.
