WEATHER: Expect an eish-cold Gauteng on Wednesday, sunny Cape Town

Wednesday will bring very different weather conditions across Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town, with sunny and warm conditions in the Mother City contrasting with a much colder day inland, according to AccuWeather.

Johannesburg

Johannesburg will be mostly cloudy and cool, with a high of 12°C.

Winds will come from the east-southeast at 19 km/h, with gusts reaching 52 km/h.

No rain or thunderstorms are expected.

The temperature will drop to a low of 4°C overnight, with partly cloudy and chilly conditions. Winds will be easterly at 13 km/h, with gusts of up to 39 km/h.

Pretoria

Pretoria will see breezy conditions in the morning, followed by a cool day with periods of cloud and sunshine. The temperature will reach 14°C.

East winds of 20 km/h are expected, with gusts reaching 56 km/h.

No rain or thunderstorms are expected.

Overnight, conditions will become clear and chilly, with a low of 5°C. Winds will be east-southeasterly at 15 km/h, with gusts of up to 43 km/h.

Cape Town

Cape Town will have the warmest and sunniest conditions of the three cities, with a forecast high of 22°C and sunny, pleasant weather.

Winds will be east-southeasterly at 11 km/h, with gusts of up to 24 km/h. No rain is expected.

The night will remain mainly clear, with temperatures dropping to 12°C. Winds will ease to 9 km/h, with gusts of up to 22 km/h.
