Acting National Police Commissioner Puleng Dimpane described Sibeko’s killing as unacceptable, while confirming that investigations into the attack were progressing.
Police believe alleged gangster Regan Collis was not acting alone when the officers were killed.
Collis has been arrested and faces charges including the murder of the two police officers, as well as two women who were killed that same night.
Deputy Police Minister Polly Boshielo described the killings as an assault on the state.
Sunday, attention turns to Limpopo, where Tlometsane’s family, colleagues and friends will bid farewell to the officer.
