Cold overnight temperatures and very unhealthy air quality are set to dominate Friday’s weather in Johannesburg, despite mostly sunny skies during the day, according to AccuWeather.
The city is forecast to reach a high of 19°C, with mostly sunny conditions and a 0% chance of rain during the day.
Light north-northwesterly winds of 9 km/h are expected, with gusts reaching 24 km/h.
Air quality is forecast to be very unhealthy throughout the day.
Temperatures will drop sharply to 4°C overnight under partly cloudy skies. Rain is not expected, while winds ease to 6 km/h with gusts of 19 km/h.
PRETORIA
Pretoria will enjoy another sunny winter’s day, although residents are also being warned of very unhealthy air quality.
The capital is expected to reach 21°C under plenty of sunshine, with no chance of rain or thunderstorms.
Light north-northeasterly winds of 9 km/h are forecast, with gusts up to 24 km/h.
Overnight temperatures will fall to 5°C, with partly cloudy conditions expected. Winds remain light at 7 km/h, while the chance of precipitation stays at just 1%.
CAPE TOWN
Cape Town faces a different picture, with clouds expected to give way to brighter skies during the day.
The Mother City is forecast to reach 17°C, with no rain expected.
South-southeasterly winds of 17 km/h will be accompanied by gusts of up to 48 km/h.
Conditions clear further overnight, becoming clear to partly cloudy, with a low of 11°C.
South-easterly winds continue at 17 km/h, with gusts reaching 43 km/h, while the chance of precipitation remains near zero.
