Residents in Johannesburg and Pretoria can expect another day of hazy conditions on Thursday, with very unhealthy air quality forecast across both cities despite sunny skies and no chance of rain, according to AccuWeather.
Johannesburg is expected to reach a high of 20°C during the day under hazy conditions. Winds will blow from the south-southwest at 11 km/h, with gusts reaching 28 km/h.
The mercury is then expected to plunge to 3°C overnight, with hazy conditions continuing. Light south-southeast winds of 7 km/h and gusts of 17 km/h are forecast, with no precipitation.
Pretoria is forecast to be slightly warmer, reaching 23°C during the day with hazy skies and very unhealthy air quality. Southwesterly winds of 9 km/h are expected, with gusts up to 22 km/h.
Temperatures in the capital are expected to fall to 5°C overnight.
Light southerly winds of 9 km/h are forecast, with no rain expected.
In Cape Town, it will be very cold and windy.
The Mother City is forecast to reach 16°C with sun and some clouds during the day. South-southeast winds of 19 km/h are expected, with strong gusts of up to 52 km/h. No rain is forecast.
Cloud cover is expected to increase overnight, with partly cloudy conditions and a low of 11°C. Winds from the south-southeast at 15 km/h will continue, with gusts reaching 46 km/h. Rain is not expected overnight.
