Young equestrian represents Gauteng at championships | Roodepoort Record

A Trinityhouse Little Falls learner has been selected to represent Gauteng in show jumping at the Toyota Youth Championships currently taking place at Shongweni in KZN.

Jonathan van Dyk is competing for Team Gauteng at the national event, which runs from June 28 to July 5 and brings together young equestrian athletes from across South Africa.

According to the school, Jonathan earned his place in the provincial team through his dedication, commitment and consistent performances in the sport. The school described his selection as an important milestone and congratulated him on the achievement.

The Toyota Youth Championships are an annual event that sees riders from different provinces compete in a range of equestrian disciplines, including show jumping. The championships provide young athletes with the opportunity to compete at national level while representing their provinces.

Jonathan will compete against some of the country’s top young riders during the week-long competition.
