Investigations have been launched to determine how three people died after attending a funeral in Limpopo.
This is believed to be linked to food eaten at the funeral over the weekend in Ga-Maja village near Polokwane.
Several other victims remain in hospital after falling ill.
Premier Phophi Ramathuba is expected to receive a briefing from health officials, police and forensic teams on Wednesday.
Government provincial spokesperson Ndavhe Ramakuela said, “Patients have been admitted to various healthcare facilities, including Lebowakgomo, Dilokong, Mankweng, Seshego and Botlokwa hospitals.”
The provincial government has also deployed social workers to support affected families, while urging the community to remain calm as the investigation continues.
