The 92-year-old was sleeping in an eight-roomed house when unknown suspects entered and killed her at Ga-Choke in the Sterkwater area on Thursday night.
“The victim was later discovered by the police inside the bathroom tightened with a cloth. Following the brutal attack, the unknown suspects set the house on fire and fled the scene,” says police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba
“Post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.”
The Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe has appealed to community members to assist police in arresting suspects.
About two weeks ago, two elderly people aged 70 and 77 were killed in separate incidents in the Sekhukhune and Capricorn districts respectively.
