Five people were killed in an accident involving a school bus and a train on Wednesday afternoon near Middelburg in Mpumalanga province.
It was reported that some of the pupils were trapped under the train.

The collision happened just after 4 pm in Mafube Village at Pan Stasie (old Belfast Road).

Concerned family members of those involved in the crash were seen at the scene trying to identify their loved ones.
A paramedic had to intervene to control the crowd.
