Free State Fashion Week appoints Nkokheli Lindazwe as creative director

The appointment comes as the fashion institution prepares to launch its 2024 campaign during its annual FS Fashion Week Women’s Month Business Breakfast.

The breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, August 24, at Bloemfontein City Hall.

“I am extremely excited to be joining the Free State Fashion Week movement. I say ‘movement’ because this institution has many facets that are advancing fashion as an industry and as a culture, as well as providing a much-needed platform for talented designers in the Free State,” said Lindazwe.

“My favorite initiative of this movement is the Free State Fashion School, which is home to young, aspiring fashion designers who eventually graduate and become household names in the fashion industry and also appear on our catwalk. This is exciting for me, because I am passionate about using my creativity to empower others,” Lindazwe adds.

‘Nkox’, as he is known in the Free State, has a proven track record in the creative sector. He started his career as a radio presenter at campus radio stations. Kovsie FM And CUT FMAccording to Fashion Week, he was a radio jock and broadcasting trainer at both stations for more than 10 years respectively.

Nkox was the youngest ever appointed station manager at Kovsie FMand subsequently pioneered what is now known as local visual media in Bloemfontein when he co-founded an online media platform called Central atmosphereIn 2019, Lindazwe co-founded a national career guidance magazine called Career Magazine and became the magazine’s general manager for three years.

Lindazwe’s extensive experience on this platform and his passion to empower others later led him to found and creatively direct his own music festival (Sunset Groove), which was the first platform that Podcast by MacG And Take it easy podcast to Bloemfontein, fashion week reports.

Fashion Week will conclude with the announcement of the dates and themes of Free State Fashion Week 2024 during the annual Women’s Month Business Breakfast event.
