JOHANNESBURG – Rand Water’s five-week maintenance project ends on Monday, but supply is not expected to be restored immediately.
Many parts of Gauteng are battling interrupted supply, with many taps running completely dry.

Residents also complained of the slow recovery of systems.
The bulk water supplier says it can take up to two weeks for the system to recover.
But, it says the maintenance is necessary to avoid a day-zero scenario.
