Police Minister wants arrested Libyans ‘out of the country’

MPUMALANGA – Police Minister Senzo Mchunu wants the Libyan nationals arrested at an alleged military camp, out of the country as soon as possible.

Police top brass visited the farm in White River, Mpumalanga, after the camp was raided and the 95 foreign nationals nabbed by police.

The police discovered military equipment and drugs, including cocaine.

According to police, these Libyan nationals arrived in April, on study visas to train as security guards.

But police say they received military training instead.

“It’s clear to us their being here is illegal. Their applications have pointers of violations. We want them to be out of the country as soon as possible,” says Police Minister, Senzo Mchunu.

There are questions about how they continued their activities undetected for months.

The facility has been closed for now, with police investigations continuing.
