Body of missing Free State woman found in used grave at Thabong cemetery

The events leading to Mosupa’s disappearance began last Friday, when she was last seen by her family members.

Provincial police spokesman Captain Stephen Thakeng said Mosupa’s father raised the alarm after finding her house abandoned. “Mosupa was reported missing at Welkom police station after her father visited her residence on July 14 and she was not there, all the doors were locked. The next day, the father returned to the house and found the doors open and the house ransacked. She was nowhere to be found,” he said.

The search intensified after her official missing person report on July 15, with the community and family members joining the police. The discovery of her body brings a devastating end to hopes for her safe return, sending the community into turmoil.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact Detective Sergeant Zuzeka Kobuwe of Welkom Detective Services on 078-683-9201 or anonymously via Crime Stop on 08600-10111.
