The Political Killings Task Team arrested muncipal officials in the Western Cape.
A mayor, muncipal manager and Chief Financial Officer are allegedly linked to corruption allegations.
Its alleged they awarded a businessman a security services contract on condition of kickbacks.
National Police Spokesprson Athlende Mathe said, “It’s alleged that the businessman had already paid hundreds of thousands of rand out of fear that his security services contract would be terminated. All three face charges of corruption and are due in court on Monday, 05 October 2026.”
