Johannesburg: Warm and mostly sunny
Johannesburg is in for a warm weekend, with Saturday reaching 27°C under a mostly sunny sky. The overnight low is forecast at 14°C.
Sunday is expected to be even warmer, reaching 28°C, with sunshine and a few clouds. The temperature is forecast to drop to 13°C overnight.
Monday will remain warm at 27°C, with mostly sunny conditions and an overnight low of 11°C.
The UV index is forecast to reach 10, classified as very high, on all three days.
Pretoria: Temperatures climb above 30°C
Pretoria is forecast to reach 30°C on Saturday, with sunny to partly cloudy conditions and a low of 16°C. Sunday gets even warmer, with a high of 31°C and hazy sunshine. The overnight low is expected to be 16°C.
Monday remains hot at 29°C, with mostly sunny conditions before the possibility of thunderstorms in spots during the afternoon.
The chance of precipitation rises sharply on Monday to 55%, compared with just 3% on Saturday and 2% on Sunday.
The maximum UV index is forecast at 10, or very high, throughout the three days.
Cape Town: Showers arrive before the sun returns
Cape Town on Saturday is forecast to reach just 20°C, with a couple of morning showers followed by mostly cloudy conditions. The overnight low is expected to be 13°C, with a 61% chance of precipitation.
Sunday will be cooler, reaching 18°C, with a low of 12°C.
The day starts with a steady morning breeze and cloudy conditions, but sunshine is expected to return later. No precipitation is forecast.
By Monday, Cape Town warms to 22°C under mostly sunny skies, with a low of 12°C.
The strongest winds of the weekend are expected on Sunday, reaching 32km/h from the south-southeast.
