Freedom Front Plus has identified the elderly couple who were brutally murdered on a farm near Glen in the Free State.
A mahunt is currently being deployed to track down the suspects who allegedly murdered 76-year-old Christo Morrison and his 73-year-old wife Christa on Friday.
The murder was brutal. Christo’s body was found 300 meters from the farm, with open wounds in his upper body. His wife’s body was found in a septic tank.
Police spokesman Sergeant Mahlomola Kareli said a concerned neighbour called police when he could not reach the couple on their mobile phones on Saturday.
He said that when police arrived at the farm they found the doors of the house open, covered in blood and ransacked.
Tools and electronic equipment were stolen from the house, after which the perpetrators fled in the couple’s Toyota Land Cruiser.
The vehicle was found burned out in Winnie Mandela, formerly known as Brandfort.
Provincial leader for the FF Plus in the Free State Jan van Niekerk calls the attack brutal and unnecessary.
No arrests have been made yet.
