Wet conditions are expected in parts of the Eastern Cape and Western Cape, while damaging winds are forecast for KwaZulu-Natal and the Northern Cape, according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS).
Cool and warm conditions are expected in most parts of the country.
Impact-based warnings
Yellow Level 2 warning: Damaging wind and waves resulting in localised disruption of small harbours and ports, difficulty in navigation and localised damage to infrastructure and settlements are expected along the coast between Port Shepstone and Richards Bay.
Yellow Level 2 warning: Damaging interior winds leading to localised damage to settlements and localised problems for high-sided vehicles on prone routes due to cross winds on exposed high-level roads are expected over the central parts (upper and lower Karoo) and the Namakwa interior of the Northern Cape.
In the SAWS colour-coded weather warning system, yellow indicates a moderate risk of impact that requires caution and awareness, while orange indicates that a higher-risk impact is expected, requiring increased attention and preparation.
The SAWS uses the numbers to indicate the likelihood of weather-based impacts occurring. Levels 2 and 6 are high, Level 5 is medium, and levels 4 and 8 are low.
