He has also been charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances and the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Police have confirmed they are not simply looking at Collis.
Investigators believe others may have been involved in carrying out the attack and are following leads that could open the door to further arrests.
In court, it also emerged that Collis is no stranger to the criminal justice system.
He is currently facing five other matters, including murder and hijacking charges.
The matter was postponed for bail purposes to 25 August.
