JOHANNESBURG – Police have rescued a 29-year-old kidnap victim and arrested six suspects in Welcome in the Free State.
The victim was reportedly kidnapped from his home at gunpoint before his family received a ransom.
Police followed the suspects to a home in Flamingo Park, where they found the victim with his hands tied behind his back.

He had injured his head and was being treated for shock.
Officers also seized two firearms, ammunition and three vehicles, one of which was reported stolen.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Welcome District Court on Monday on charges of kidnapping, extortion and possession of firearms without a permit.
