Five people have died following a head-on collision between a sedan and a truck on the R23 between Perdekop and Standerton in Mpumalanga.

The crash occurred on Monday.
Four occupants of the sedan, including the driver and three passengers, were declared dead at the scene.
A fifth passenger sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Standerton Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
Mpumalanga Transport and Community Safety spokesperson Moeti Mmusi said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
However, preliminary findings suggest that dangerous overtaking may have contributed to the collision.
Mmusi urged motorists to obey the rules of the road and exercise extreme caution, particularly when travelling on the R23.
In April this year, four women were killed in a head-on collision on the R23 road between Volksrust and Perdekop in a crash involving a sedan and a truck.
