Four people have been killed in a fatal head-on collision on the R 23 highway between Perdekop and Standerton in Mpumalanga.
A heavy-duty truck collided with a sedan, resulting in the deaths of all four passengers in the smaller vehicle.
One person sustained serious injuries and has been taken to the Standerton Provincial Hospital for medical treatment.
Mpumalanga community safety spokesperson Moeti Mmusi said, “The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. However, preliminary indications suggest that dangerous overtaking may have been a contributing factor.”
