According to reliable information that has landed at the KickOff desk, the Mpumalanga province Premier’s Cup will see a change of venue, while it will also now be taking place on a new date.
The tournament, initially pencilled in for July 25, is set to now be played a week earlier, on the weekend of the Nelson Mandela Day.
Featuring the province’s big four – namely TS Galaxy, Kruger United, The Bees, and Casric Stars-the Premier’s Cup was supposed to take place at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium, but now, according to a source, it has been shifted to Kanyamazane Stadium.

“The Premier’s Cup will now take place in the 18th,”the source said.
“There’s rumours of taking it to Kanyamazane. In KwaMhlanga, they have a big challenge when it comes to the pitch there at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.”
The source said there are doubts about whether the venue can sustain the number of teams that will be participating on the day.
“Remember, the pitch at Solomon Mahlangu is hosting two professional teams during the season, so there are fears that with the one-day tournament, the pitch might be damaged before even the season starts for Casric Stars and TS Galaxy,” added the source.
This year, the tournament has been expanded to establish a broader provincial football festival by including the four biggest teams in the province.
