Langaville trio earns spot at ASA Road Running Championships in Eastern Cape | African Reporter

Tsakani – Langaville Athletics Team coach Saki Nxumalo-Kgapola has congratulated three young athletes who have been selected to represent Kwatsaduza at the Athletics South Africa (ASA) Road Running Championships in the Eastern Cape.

Thoko Ndlovu, Zanele Mzizi and Minenhle Kgapola will travel to Gqeberha on June 26, ahead of the championship taking place at Pollok Beach in Summerstrand on June 27.

The athletes secured their places after impressive performances at the Zet Sinqe Series in Kagiso on May 1, where they competed in the mile race and met the qualifying standards for the national event.

Ndlovu finished first in the girls’ U13 category, while Kgapola claimed first place in the girls’ U15 division. Mzizi also delivered a strong performance, finishing third and securing qualification for the championships.

Coach Kgapola expressed pride in the athletes’ achievements and thanked sponsor Sven Vosse for donating running shoes to support their preparations for the competition.

“We are grateful for the support from Mr Vosse. His contribution has helped ensure the athletes are properly equipped as they prepare to compete on the national stage,” said Kgapola.

The ASA South Africa Road Running Championships will be hosted in conjunction with the Nelson Mandela Bay 21.1km Race and presented by Eastern Province Athletics.

Members of the Langaville community have wished the athletes well as they prepare to proudly represent both Kwatsaduza and their province at one of the country’s premier road running events.
