Gauteng Roads and Transport Dept begins repair work along the N12

The Gauteng Roads and Transport Department has started urgent repair work along the N12 after damage caused by water seeping from underground concrete pipes. 

The department said the project will restore damaged pipes, strengthen the road foundation and resurface the affected section to improve safety for motorists.

Temporary traffic management measures are in place, and road users are urged to follow all signage and exercise caution. 

MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela said the road will reopen once repairs are completed and certified safe.

“The Department remains committed to maintaining and improving Gauteng’s road network while prioritising the safety of road users and construction personnel. The department apologise for any inconvenience caused during the repair period and thank motorists for their patience and cooperation.”
