Johannesburg weather forecast: Sunny and mild winter conditions
Johannesburg is expected to enjoy hazy sunshine on Wednesday, with temperatures reaching a high of 21°C.
Conditions will remain dry throughout the day. Light north-northwesterly winds of 7km/h are forecast, with gusts reaching 20km/h.
The UV index is expected to reach a moderate 4, while cloud cover remains low at 6%.
Johannesburg’s weather will stay clear overnight, with temperatures dropping to 6°C under a crystal-clear sky. Winds will shift to an east-northeasterly direction at 7km/h, with gusts up to 19km/h.
Pretoria forecast: Warmest temperatures among three major metros
Pretoria is forecast to record the warmest temperatures among the country’s three major metros on Wednesday.
The capital is expected to reach a high of 23°C under hazy sunshine.
Dry weather is expected to continue. East-southeasterly winds of 7km/h and gusts of up to 17km/h are expected.
Skies will remain mostly clear overnight, with temperatures falling to 8°C. Light easterly winds of 9km/h and gusts of 22km/h are forecast.
Cape Town weather: Cooler temperatures and increasing cloud cover
Cape Town will be noticeably cooler than Gauteng’s major cities on Wednesday.
The Mother City is expected to reach a high of 17°C, with mostly sunny conditions in the morning before high clouds dim the sunshine later in the day.
South-southeasterly winds of 17km/h are forecast, with stronger gusts reaching 44km/h.
While no rainfall is expected, cloud cover is forecast to increase to 51% during the day.
Partly cloudy conditions are expected overnight with temperatures dipping to 12°C. South-easterly winds of 15km/h will continue, with gusts of up to 35km/h.
Cloud cover is forecast to increase significantly overnight to 90%, although the chance of rain remains low at 2%.
