KwaZulu-Natal disaster management teams were deployed in the wake of widespread veld fires that damaged homes, businesses and cars across the province, amid two weather warnings.
The SA Weather Service warned of “extremely high fire danger conditions” over the western and northern parts of the province for Sunday, with gusts greater than 65km/h and dry and warm to hot conditions.
This was followed by a damaging winds warning for Monday for the western parts of the province.
