Sibasa crash: Two killed, several injured in Limpopo head-on collision
TWO people were killed and several others injured when a bakery truck and a sedan collided head-on in Sibasa, Limpopo.
The crash happened on the P277/1 Road between Astron and Elegant garages near the City to City bus rank, causing major traffic jams in the area.
According to preliminary reports, reckless and negligent driving may have caused the deadly accident.

Two people in the bakery truck, including the driver, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital. Three passengers travelling in the sedan escaped with minor injuries, while two occupants of the sedan lost their lives.
The crash forced authorities to temporarily close the road between the two traffic robots, with motorists diverted to alternative routes.
Traffic law enforcement officers, police and emergency medical personnel rushed to the scene to manage traffic and assist the injured.
The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety spokesperson, Mashudabaga, urged motorists to remain patient and cooperate with officials on the scene.
“Motorists are urged to exercise patience, cooperate with traffic officials and follow all directives at the scene,” said the department.
She also warned road users against dangerous driving habits.
“We appeal to all road users to obey the rules of the road, avoid reckless and negligent driving, and prioritise safety at all times. Road safety remains a collective responsibility,” the department said.
Police investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
