SANTACO said it will not speculate on the motive for the shooting while the police investigation is underway.

The organisation has appealed for calm and encouraged anyone with information to assist the police.

The council has also condemned the violence and urged law enforcement agencies to identify and arrest those responsible.

SANTACO’s Makhosandile Tumana said the council remains committed to promoting peace and resolving disputes within the taxi industry through lawful channels.

“We urge all our members to tolerate each other, and if ever any form of dispute. They must try to sit down and discuss the matter around the table.”
