A 56-year-old wanted fugitive was arrested on Wednesday, 27 May 2026, at his home in Kabega Park, Gqeberha for the alleged sexual abuse of his daughter.
A 56-YEAR-OLD American fugitive, who allegedly sexually abused his own daughter while she was just 12 years old, has been arrested in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape.
The suspect was nabbed at his home in Kabega Park on Wednesday, 27 May, after being tracked down by Interpol and South African police.
The man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, is wanted in the US on rape and sexual assault charges dating back to 2017.
According to police, the victim’s mum reported the shocking allegations to the San Antonio Police Department in the US.
It’s alleged the suspect repeatedly sexually abused his daughter and exchanged explicit text messages with her over a period of time.
Police say after investigations intensified in America the suspect fled the country and later settled in the Eastern Cape.

National police spokeswoman Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda van Wyk said Interpol National Central Bureau Tshwane successfully traced the wanted fugitive in Mzansi.
“The suspect, a US citizen, is wanted by Interpol on charges of rape and sexual assault reported by the victim’s mum to the San Antonio Police Department in 2017.
“Upon completion of the investigation, the suspect had fled the US and was later traced to the Eastern Cape, South Africa.”
Van Wyk said a Section 5(1)(b) warrant was executed after South Africa received an extradition request from the United States government.
The operation involved the NCB Pretoria, the Nelson Mandela Bay District Intervention Task Team, the Crime Combating Unit and Mount Road Crime Intelligence.
“The suspect is expected to appear before the Gqeberha Magistrates Court on Friday, 29 May 2026, facing an extradition application by the government of the US to the Republic of South Africa,” said Van Wyk.
The case has shocked residents in the quiet Kabega Park suburb, where the suspect had allegedly been living unnoticed.
