Until recently, Carrim was the ANC’s treasurer in the Ngaka Modiri Molemo Region.
When Carrim appeared at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, it was revealed that his companies had been awarded more than R300 million worth of tenders in the municipalities where he was representing the ANC.
New information now reveals that Carrim has also been doing business with the North West government.
In the legislature response, Mokgosi said the provincial government has awarded at least 10 tenders to companies owned by Carrim, amounting to just over R251 million.
The tenders were mainly for security and transport services, with the largest of these being the R168 million that the Department of Transport paid to Tansnat Coachlines and Ziggy Investment for commuter transport.
The premier said that work was completed in all the tenders.
- Department of Education, the amount is R26.156 million to Fusion Tactical Team and
R1.166 million for Ziggy Investment for Security Services. - Department of Social Development, the amount is R21.840 million to Fusion Tactical
Team for Security Services.
- Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation the amounts are R9,985 million to
Fusion Tactical Team and R 4.567 million to Ziggy Investments for Security Services. - Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, the amounts are R7,550 million to Fusion Tactical Team and R168.107 million to Tansnat Coachlines and Ziggy Investment for Commuter Transport.
- Department of Health, the amount is R4.348 million to Ziggy Investments for Security.
- Department of Public Works and Roads, the amount is R8.946 million for Security
Services. - Department of Human Settlements, the amount is R5,875 million for Security
Services.
“Yes, the work was completed and verified by the relevant departments,” said Premier Mokgosi to questions about whether work was completed in the tenders awarded to Carrim’s companies.
