The Mpumalanga women’s golf team has been crowned South African interprovincial champions.
The team made a clean sweep during the tournament held at the Devonvale Golf and Wine Estate in Stellenbosch.
The team manager was Petricia Buurman from Middelburg, with Bea Breedt and Chantey-Lee Visser, who are also from Middelburg.
The Mpumalanga women competed in the B-division but have now moved up to the A-division.
A great honour also fell to Petricia when she was elected as the new vice-president of Women’s Golf in South Africa (WGSA).
The Mpumalanga Golf Union said in their congratulations, “It is with great pride and admiration that we congratulate Petricia Buurman on her appointment as the new WGSA Vice President.
Petricia’s golfing journey has been one marked by passion, commitment, and excellence. Through her extensive experience in both the competitive and administrative sides of the game, she has continuously shown outstanding leadership, integrity, and a deep love for the growth of women’s golf.
“Her dedication to the sport, tireless work ethic, and willingness to uplift those around her have made her not only a respected leader but also a true ambassador for the game. Time and time again, she has proven she is an incredible asset to golf and someone who will continue to inspire future generations.
“As a union, we could not be prouder to see her step into this important role. We do not doubt that she will continue striving for greatness and making a lasting impact wherever her journey takes her.”
