While a Lusikisiki family of six is fortunate to have been freed from the clutches of their kidnappers, a Gqeberha family is hoping for the safe return of a family member whose kidnappers have demanded a R500 000 ransom.

The Lusikisiki family was kidnapped from their home in France Village on Saturday night, while Dr Bongani Nqini was kidnapped at his KwaZakhele surgery on Monday afternoon.

In the Lusikisiki incident, about 10 suspects kidnapped Nkosiphendule Manyathela, 54, his wife, Ntombizithini, 45, their cousin, Sidumo Macase, and their three children, aged between 15 and 20, from their home and took them to an abandoned house in Magcakini Village, Libode.
