The Western Cape Disaster Management Centre is on high alert after the South African Weather Service adjusted its warning for damaging winds from Level 6 to 8 for Sunday.

The inclement weather will result in strong gale force winds moving westerly to north-westerly at 70-90km/h and gusting at 90-120km/h over the City of Cape Town and the Drakenstein, Stellenbosch, Overstrand and Theewaterskloof municipalities on Sunday.
