Two men were killed and five other people were wounded in the attack at the Hazeldene taxi rank on Tuesday.
Winde said the incident is a suspected gang hit: “The gangsters apparently were hiding in wheelie bins, with people pushing the bins dressed up as municipal workers with bibs on. And then, you know, this is obviously a hit on another gang.”
In a separate attack, in Portlands, a man died in another gang-related shooting. The attackers fled the scene in a getaway car.
The shootings have continued unabated despite the army’s deployment to the area since last week.
