Residents of Mpumalanga and Limpopo are warned to remain cautious and avoid flooded areas as heavy downpours are expected on Sunday.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rainfall in parts of both provinces.
Forecaster Tokelo Chiloane said that the rain may lead to localised flooding on vulnerable roads, settlements, and low-lying areas.
“Cloudy and cool weather conditions are expected over the north-eastern parts of the country with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers. The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 2 warning for the substantive rainfall that may lead to localised flooding across the entire province of Limpopo and the northern parts of Mpumalanga.”
