Tebbutt Academy karateka shine at Gauteng tournament, bring home multiple medals | Germiston City News

The scooped multiple medals in their first competition of the year at a recent tournament in Lenasia.

The tournament featured prominent schools from across Gauteng.

This follows their year-end function last year, where the karateka were honoured for their outstanding achievements throughout 2025.

Kancho Alex Tebbutt said training resumed in January, setting the tone for another promising year.

He added that the academy has seen growth in membership, highlighting its strength and impact in the community.

“Our training is constant. We need to keep showing up consistently and giving our best in the dojo and at competitions,” said Tebbutt.

“Our training is still at Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston, but in a different hall at the front of the school.

“All our karateka continue to show strength and discipline, with each walking away with a medal or more,” said Tebbutt.
