Partly cloudy and warm to cool, with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms possible over the central and eastern regions of the country on Friday, and morning fog in some places.
Cloudy and cool conditions are expected over central and eastern parts of South Africa from Saturday, with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Otherwise partly cloudy and warm.
SA Weather Service warnings for Friday:
A. warning level 2 for heavy thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall, damaging winds, large amounts of small hail and lightning causing localized damage to infrastructure, settlements (informal), property, vehicles, livelihoods, agricultural production and livestock, localized flooding of sensitive roads, low lying areas and bridges, minor vehicle accidents, localized injuries due to flying debris over North West, Gauteng, Highveld of Mpumalanga, north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape and most parts of the Free State except the south.
b. level 1 warning for damaging winds leading to difficulties in navigation at sea and small ships at risk of taking on water and capsizing at the point between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas.

GAUTENG
Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thunderstorms. It will be cold in places in the south.

MPUMALANGA
Morning fog patches along the slope, otherwise cloudy and cool to cold with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms.
LIMPOPO
Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thunderstorms, but scattered in the far southwest.
NORTHWEST
Cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
THE FREE STATE
Morning fog patches in the far east, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thunderstorms, but isolated over southern parts where it will be partly cloudy.
THE NORTHERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and warm, with scattered showers and thunderstorms, but isolated in the western interior. Along the coast the wind is blowing weak to moderate from a westerly to northwesterly direction.
THE WESTERN CAPE
Fine and hot to very hot, but extremely hot in parts of the West Coast District. It is partly cloudy along the south coast. The wind along the coast is moderate to fresh from a southerly to south-easterly direction, but strong along the south-west and south coast.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and cool to warm, but fine inland. The wind along the coast is moderate northeasterly.
THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thunderstorms. Morning drizzle is possible over the Wild Coast. The wind along the coast is moderate northeasterly.
KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog patches in the western interior, cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers and rain. Winds along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-westerly until late morning, otherwise light south-easterly, light to moderate easterly to north-easterly southerly from late afternoon, spreading northwards in the evening.
