Bloem says that alleged Matjabeng EPWP corruption is a shame – SABC News – Breaking News, Special reports, World, Business, Sport Coverage of all South African current events. Africa’s news leader.

Spokesperson Dennis Bloem from Activist and Citizens Forum has described the alleged use of Funding of Expanded Public Works Program (EPWP) for inflated salaries of former councilors at Matjhabeng municipality in the free state as a shame.

Bloem says that poor people who depend on the program to put bread on the table are left behind to suffer.

This is after the Minister of Public Works Dean Macpherson has stopped financing the program in the municipality, pending investigations.

The decision of Macpherson follows on allegations that politically connected people receive blown salaries through the program.

Bloem has called on the Ministry of Public Works to extend its investigation to other municipalities in the province.

“Corruption is a cancer in the ANC. Activists and Citizens Forum calls on the hawks to arrest all those involved in this blatant corruption by blowing up the salaries of those politically connected frameworks. There must be serious consequences for this corruption. We cannot continue forever,” explains Bloem.
