Matjhabeng Local Municipality – A management crisis in the province is freeing to get worse.

In one of the worst situations, Matjhabeng was able to pack a water bill of R8.1 billion for years.

The municipality of Kopanong has no contributions from pension funds from its employees paid to the value of hundreds of millions of Rand.

Other municipalities are accused of prioritizing exorbitant salaries for senior officials above services.

MPs have been on the ground to determine what is going on.

The portfolio committee for Cooperatie Governance and Traditional Affairs of Cogta leads a two -day supervision visit in combination with the prime minister of the free state and a provincial MEC.
