Sasolburg-free state prime minister Letsoha-Mathae invested a preparatory meeting on July 16, prior to the visit to the portfolio committee around the province.

The portfolio committee for cooperative administration and traditional matters will pay a supervisory visit to the free state province on 24 July.

Prime Minister Letsoha-Mathae destroyed the state of municipalities that dark troops may have intervened in municipalities with the sole purpose of stealing resources intended to elevate communities.

This, added Prime Minister Letsoha-Mathae, has been helped and undertaken by senior officials who work in different municipalities.

“I would even go so far that we say, we are infiltrated by criminal elements whose insatiable lust for money has blinded them for the lived reality of our people.
How else do you explain many of the incomplete projects in our province? The simple explanation is that many of us, dressed in suits, are heartless and driven by an absolute love of money. We appoint friends with absolutely no capacity to implement large projects and they take the money, dump the project and disappear, “said Prime Minister Letsoha-Mathae.

She also warned that ignoring striking challenges in municipalities will not help to resolve challenges that influence the municipalities in the province.

“It will not serve us a goal and do ourselves if we do not own our challenges and jointly find a way to tackle our problems urgently,” she said.

Prime Minister Letsoha-Mathae further said that some people at the helm of the local government were so detached from the government that the suffering of people does not bother them.

“We have become so cold -hearted that even seeing children who push wheelbarrows into the cold does not arouse our consciousness? We have lost our moral that we give little to give older men and women, Batswadi Ba Rona, who are forced to give up their shocking social exhibition money to buy water?” she asked.

The prime minister sent a strict warning that the era of misconduct was over.

“Things will change. As Prime Minister of the province, I change, but more importantly, the people of free state change!”
