WATCH | Western Cape Legislature | DA holds on to 24 seats for another five years

WESTERN CAPE – The Western Cape is the first province to swear-in its Premier, Cabinet members and members of the provincial legislature for the seventh Parliament.

Alan Winde retains the premiership and so does Daylin Mitchell as the speaker.

The DA won an outright majority in the Western Cape, a province they’ve been guarding jealously for 15 years.

Now, they’ll be in power for another five years with a weaker ANC in opposition after the party lost four of their original 12 seats.

eNCA senior reporter Ayesha Ismail has the details.
