Cape Town flood victims struggling to rebuild

CAPE TOWN – Flood victims in Cape Town’s informal settlements are trying to rebuild their homes, at least those who can.

In Nyanga’s Freedom Square, roads were inaccessible this week because of blocked drains and sewers that contributed to floods.

The councillor for Mfuleni wants the authorities to better prepare people for winter.

The city has yet to record any casualties or significant damage to infrastructure, other than a road swept away in Oranjezicht near Gardens.
