Weather warning was pushed to alert level 9

A cut low -pressure system – accompanied by heavy snow, harmful wind and disturbing rain – swept over Harry Gwala, Uthukela and UGU on Tuesday morning.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.

Cogta says that disaster response and municipal teams are working on erasing roads and repairing electricity.

In the meantime, Lehlohonolo Thobela van de SA -Weerservices has published an updated weather warning for the Eastern Cape and neighboring coastal areas.

● N2 from Kokstad Triangle (Kokstad Bridge Project) towards Brooksnek is also closed due to snow.

There is rain and strong wind in Umzimkhulu and Ixopo

Umzimkhulu RTI and RRM closed the road on the N2 Stafford Post (UmzimkHulu area) because motorists force to continue while there is snow in the beast bead.
