The Auditor General of South Africa says that all their reports are of quality.
The Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA) has denied accusations of corruption by some of their auditors in the free state.
This is after Actionsa stated that it had received information from whistleblowers who claim that Senior Agsa Free State figures collaborated with Centlec employees and consultants to falsify audit results and to disinfect reports that were intended to expose widespread financial mismanagement and fraud within the municipal entity.
AG Tsakani Maluleke said, however, that AGSA defended the agency.
AGSA processes waterproof
She said that audits are subject to strict internal and external processes to guarantee compliance with Ethical and audit standards.
“They also undergo strictly independent quality assessments by independent industrial supervisors such as the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA),
“In accordance with international standards for Audit (ISA) that we adhere to, our audit processes are such that no person can only conclude and audit, because there are different strict internal and external assessment mechanisms that all our auditors have to adhere,” she said.

No evidence against auditors
Maluleke said that there is no evidence that AGSA -Auditors were involved in the free state in collusion with officials of the municipality of Mangaung.
“That’s why we call on an appeal Those who have concrete evidence of inappropriate To submit it through our complaints process to enable the AGSA to investigate. “
She said that the allegations had surfaced for the first time on social media in 2024, which encouraged the AGSA to investigate. They were investigated and the reports were handed over to the municipality.
“The AGSA rejects the allegations of collusion between our team and Centlec employees.
“The AGSA assessed the entity’s audits and concluded that there was no basis for the allegations, because all findings were consistently reported.
“The last five (5) financial years, Centlec receives unqualified with the returns of the findings of the Agsa,” she said.
