North West Sportistic excitedly launches College Cup | Potchefstroom Herald

The inaugural North West Sportistic College Cup officially kicked off at the Potchefstroom College of Agriculture on April 12, marking the beginning of a visionary journey for college sports in the province.

The tournament brought together some of the most passionate student athletes, stakeholders, and institutions under one banner to revive, empower, and elevate the state of college-level football and netball.

Founded by Busang Molekane, CEO of the Sportistic brand, the initiative aims to rewrite the story of college sports, offering not just competition but opportunity. With the backing of powerful partnerships and a shared commitment to transformation, the NW Sportistic College Cup is more than a tournament—it’s a movement for change.

“This isn’t just about the game—it’s about creating a platform where student athletes are seen, valued, and supported in every dimension of their growth,” said Molekane.

The cup is designed to give student athletes more than medals. It creates real-world pathways for personal and professional development, including: • Internship placements in fields such as digital marketing, sports administration, business management, and sports science. • Support mechanisms for academically excluded students, reconnecting them with opportunities to complete or further their studies. • A “Play for Change” programme that helps raise funds to provide essential dignity items for students in need.
