The money is considered the proceeds from crime linked to the corruption case of the corruption-related asbestos-related asbestos.
The assets include six real estate and a Mercedes-Benz vehicle purchased in cash for R2 million.
The preservation order was granted on March 13, 2025 and the respondents, including the late Ignatius Mpambani, his wife and their accompanying entities.
Those have 14 days to resist or accept the order, while the court has 90 days to confirm the preservation.
“These assets are part of a broader strategy by the NPA to eliminate the financial stimulus behind corrupt activities,” said NPA spokesperson Mthunzi Mhaga.
“We have provided mandatory evidence to the court who proved that these were criminal proceeds.”

The R32 million is part of a wider R300 million in frozen assets linked to the controversial asbestos corruption case.
In legal proceedings with regard to the case, the president has adopted a cautious approach, as a result of which cross -hearing of witnesses strictly limited to the issue of jurisdiction.
